Marcus Davis
Marcus had just turned 23 when he was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer which shattered all of our lives!! Over the next 12 months of treatment, Marcus managed to do most things he could, like see his mom and dad finally get married!! He said if he could he would of done it all again the following weekend as everyone that he loved and that loved him were all in 1 room together.
Marcus was just like any typical 23 year old young man, he loved football, he had played in many teams with his dad Colin and his uncle David and had won many medals, he loved to have a bet every weekend on the football whether win or lose he still loved the game.
Marcus loved food he was always having a Chinese from his favourite take away or if we were out it would be Gammon, egg and chips without fail, we think his favourite words were “mom what’s for tea?”.
Marcus was a bit of a joker he loved playing people up especially his younger sister Becky who would always scream at him and he would just be laughing!!
Marcus had a love in his life! His pet Staffie Dory. He absolutely idolized her, when he became ill she would never be far from him at all!!
Marcus passed away on the 25th January 2018 aged 24, a day that will always be etched in our minds! Not a day goes by where we don’t think about him, he has left a hole in our lives that could never be filled.
We started our fundraising as we wanted to give something back to the Teenage Cancer Trust and to Young Lives vs Cancer (formally Clic Sargent) who helped Marcus out when he was in the hospital and then Young Lives vs Cancer were there after Marcus passed away with support for the funeral and support for the family. We did the Marcus Davis memorial day and then we did the 90`s throwback disco in memory of Marcus and we always split the monies 50/50 between both charities.
We plan to do more fundraising in the coming years to carry on supporting these fantastic charities and to keep Marcus`s name alive.
