Lola's Story
On 22 August 2021, our beautiful and brave daughter Lola died from cancer. Through our fundraising, we can only hope to show a fraction of the strength, determination, bravery and hope that Lola managed throughout her illness.
It's wrong that any child should face such a cruel disease, and it's wrong that any family should have to cope with the physical, emotional and financial challenges that a child's cancer diagnosis brings.
Young Lives vs Cancer offer essential support in a variety of ways to families experiencing desperate times and they supported us from Lola’s diagnosis and throughout her treatment. They provided us with a social worker who helped answer my many questions. They also put Lola in touch with other charities who organised virtual makeup masterclasses and she even got to design her own unique pair of converse shoes. (They have cherry blossom painted on them). They helped put a smile on Lola’s face when she was going through the toughest of times.
